A downloadable game for Windows

This test version is intended to be used to test character performance only and does not represent the actual game mechanics of the official game.

After unzipping the zip file, open NellAdventureStudioTest_0.12E.exe in the folder to play.

Currently only available for Windows.

This game feel test version contains 5 mini-levels that take 40 minutes to complete and around 60 minutes to 100% collection.

There are three types of collectibles and a shop.

The esc key opens the settings menu.

Holding down the esc key during a dialogue allows you to skip the dialogue.

CTRL plus N allows for a quick reload, useful if you get stuck for some reason.

There's a device on the far right of the level select scene (the map with the five doors) that deletes the game's save file, interacting with it will instantly delete the save fileand shut down the game, so don't go near it unless you really want to erase everything you've progressed so far.

Beat the demo, found the secrets.  Really fun little engine!

Dash jumping feels like it needs a bit of visual effect, especially wall-dashes.  Something like, kick up a cloud of dust, or a different sound effect for wall-dashing.

Favorite weapon is the keyboard because of the sound it makes.  :D

My idea is some kind of afterimage effect, like those in Megaman X. Too bad we didn't have enough time to implement it.

Yeah, with everything else I get it.  Still a really cool proof-of-concept!  Hope to see more of it sometime.

Hm, maybe a bug!   Pausing the menu after you've died causes a black screen.  Should be easy to disable pausing when hp=0!

Thanks for the feedback, I've informed our programmer.

Came here from the bangin' OST you uploaded! I'll try the game when I have a moment but looks cool!

I'm glad you like them XD

Is that DragonTim in the banner?

Yes, he designed some levels for a version of this game 2 years ago and still consistently gives advice.
